ABOUT MANE UP MEMPHUS
OUR MISSION & VISION
Founded in July 2024, Mane Up Memphis was created to provide support, guidance, and resources to anyone in need of mental health services, financial literacy, and personal development. In a world where access to essential resources is often limited, we strive to bridge the gap for individuals and families seeking stability, empowerment, and long-term success. Memphis, with its 21.7% poverty rate—nearly double the national average, presents unique challenges that require community-driven solutions, and Mane Up Memphis is at the forefront of addressing these needs.
Unlike traditional nonprofits, our approach is inclusive and holistic, ensuring that anyone—regardless of background, status, or circumstance—has access to life-changing support. Whether it’s through mental health counseling, financial coaching, or interpersonal skill-building workshops, we tailor our services to empower individuals to take control of their futures. With a data-driven strategy, we leverage technology to optimize outreach, track impact, and drive measurable results that transform lives.
Since launching, we have worked with individuals from all walks of life, offering direct support to those seeking clarity, confidence, and community connection. Our partnerships with government officials and local organizations allow us to expand our reach and deliver meaningful change across Memphis and beyond. Every dollar invested in Mane Up Memphis creates exponential impact, reducing reliance on crisis interventions and fostering long-term stability for those we serve.
At Mane Up Memphis, our mission and purpose is simple yet powerful: To uplift, equip, and empower people to build stronger, more resilient lives—no matter where they are on their journey.
EMBRACING LIFES CHALLENGES.

Racheal Shantel
Personally affected by violence—her grandfather, George T. Walker, was murdered when she was ten—Racheal is deeply committed to helping individuals take control of their lives. As a Collierville, Tennessee native, she holds a Master’s in Urban City and Regional Planning and is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Philosophy with a specialization in Governance and Policy.
Through her own experiences and academic studies, Racheal has gained a deep understanding of how systems are entangled to shape communities, the betterment of cities, and the challenges that arise when individuals fall through the cracks. This knowledge has placed a burden on her heart—not to simply observe these realities, but to take action by equipping people with the tools and strategies to navigate life on their own terms.
Racheal is a pioneer for change, blending policy expertise, strategic planning, and a passion for service to develop initiatives that empower people to reclaim their agency and build sustainable futures. Her vision is clear—to inspire individuals, strengthen communities, and create a world where no one is left behind due to systemic barriers or personal setbacks.
